Q: Since you started in the industry, what’s something that’s surprised you or challenged you the most, and how has SurfacePrep helped you grow through that?
"It never ceases to amaze me how many applications use SurfacePrep abrasive or specialty material. I remember sitting in the reception of our UK abrasive facility on my first day wondering what all the containers of grit were used for… 20 years later and we are still developing new and exciting applications that use our media."

Q: Is there a particular project you’ve worked on that you’re especially proud of or learned a lot from?
"I have worked with so many customers to ensure their blast and used media process is optimal, each one having a unique challenge and rewarding outcome. I’m proud to have supported them all."

Q: When working with customers, is there a tip or piece of advice you often share to help them get the best outcome from a design or solution?
"Focus on the process / desired outcome. Cost efficiencies are achieved once the process is optimised."
Q: What do you enjoy doing when you're not working? Are there any hobbies or interests that help you unwind?
"I enjoy spending time with family and friends. Hiking in and around the Peak District is my favourite way to unwind."
Q: What kind of feedback do you usually hear from customers or colleagues about your work or approach?
"Customers find our recycling service to be a breath of fresh air. At a time when companies have a number of environmental targets, our support provides a sustainable alternative to conventional landfill. This is one less thing for customers to worry about"

Q: Can you share an example where hybrid grit solutions made a big difference?
"In some cases, an 'off-the-shelf' solution is not right for the customer. The process, the item to be surface-finished, or the system may require something more. SurfacePrep works with our customers to develop hybrid material solutions, which are tailored to their requirements."
Q: How do our processes go above and beyond when it comes to purifying and testing our grit?
"Our team works hard to ensure all materials are supplied to the highest standard. SurfacePrep undertakes a number of in-house material checks; additionally, we employ the services of a range of highly respected third-party testing houses to support QC efforts."
